June program by WNC Bee Inspector Lewis Cauble on Controlling Varroa Mites

The June 13th program for the Transylvania Beekeeping Club was a presentation by WNC Bee Inspector Lewis Cauble on identifying, measuring levels and controlling varroa mites in the honeybee hive.

Lewis recommended several excellent websites to reference in the control of these mites as well as other areas of beekeeping management.

June 13th Transylvania Beekeeping Club Meeting

The next meeting of the Transylvania County Bee Club will be on Monday June 13 at 7 P.M. at the Community Services Conference Room 98 E. Morgan St., Brevard NC 28712.
The topic of this month’s meeting is everyone’s favorite, Varroa mites.  Our guest speaker is Lewis Cauble.  Lewis is our state Bee Inspector for the mountain region and provides information and inspection services  for our region.
Apiary Inspection services are provided by the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS), Plant Industry Division, Plant Protection Section, Apiary Services.
